“I’m immensely proud of every one of the guys, they gave 100%, did everything we asked of them, and left it all out on the ice against was a very talented and discipline Sheffield team

I think there are large parts of the game we were the better team. You managed the puck well and played with good speed. We were structured defensively and created some good scoring chances. We rang the post 4 to 5 times and on another night, one or 2 of those go in and we have a different game.  Unfortunately, we made 3 mistakes, Sheffield were clinical and capitalised on them. These are all things that are easily rectified once we have a bit more time on the ice together and make some tweaks to our special teams.

Special mention has to go to Sam Gospel, who put in a brilliant performance and reaffirmed my belief that we have the best goaltender in the League and the Chiefs Jersey.  I also was impressed with Rick Bentham who had a great game for us on defence.

Finally, on behalf of all of the players and the Chiefs organisation, I would like to thank the hundreds of Leeds fans who made the trip down the M1 to support us as we start this adventure. We were blown away by your support and hope to give you plenty to cheer about through the course of the season.

Looking forward to Telford, we are anticipating another fiercely contested game. There are going to be no easy games in this League, but we are confident that another week together, this group is going to continue to grow and we feel that we can cause any team real problems. The smaller ice down in Telford it’s going to be a factor things happen a lot faster, but I am confident that we can adapt and hopefully come out Of there with a positive performance and a positive result”.
