“Overall it’s been a tough weekend, but for around 110 minutes we played good, hard, structured hockey. There were 10 or so minutes on Saturday where we got away from our identity and it probably cost us 2 points. We spoke at length after Saturdays game about the areas that we needed to address, and I think the boys responded in the right way with a dominant performance tonight. We were solid defensively, and created a lot of good chances, but we’re a little bit snake bitten in front of goal right now and every mistake we seem to make ends up in the back of our net. That just shows how competitive this new league is, and if you’re not at your best on any given night, you’re going to get punished. Overall I saw enough to suggest that we’re still building in the right direction, and last night was a bump in the road rather than a massive regression. Some positives from the weekend were the play of Ethan Hehir, who really came into his own, and Miles Finney who had a great performance tonight and gave us every chance to get the win. It was also good to see Radek and Archer get on the scoresheet both nights, and they show signs of forming a formidable partnership. The work rate from the guys is there. We know that the only way to get out of this funk is to work our way out of it, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do. Finally, another huge thank you to the fans who travelled to support us this weekend. The guys can’t wait to play in front of you all in our brand new home in Leeds”
