Coach Sam Zajac reflects on Sunday Nights win in Milton Keynes and the teams first four point weekend
Absolutely delighted to be returning home to Leeds with our first 4 point weekend in the books. Two really different games, Sheffield was on a knife edge all night and chances were at a premium, whereas tonight in MK it was old fashioned end to end, run and gun hockey. But that just shows that we can adapt, and it was great to see different guys come to the fore for us. Barnesy was absolutely deadly all weekend with 4 goals, and he’s showing that he has got all the tools to be a huge player at this level. It was great to see Bobby Streetly and Joe Coulter record their first goals for the club and two huge goals at that. And I’m absolutely delighted that Kops has finally got off the mark. He’s the hardest working guy on the ice every night, a real unsung hero for us, so to see him rewarded with his first 2 goals tonight was great. We loved seeing so many of the Chiefs fans come out and show their support over the weekend and were over the moon that we’ve managed to treat them to 2 wins, and we hope to see them all in what is another huge weekend for us coming up against Telford and Sheffield
Now the focus is straight to next weekend away to Telford on Saturday 02.11 FO 7pm and to Blackburn Sunday where the Chiefs will host their first game and its against Sheffield Steeldogs Face off is at 5pm with doors to Blackburn Arena opening at 4pm.
Hope to see you all there
